Give to AZ4Education and make a recommendation

by Brian November 28, 2012

Did you know that when you donate to AZ4Education, you can recommend a student or school to receive your donation? It’s one of the many benefits of donating that allows you more control of where your donation (ie. tax dollars) goes.   It’s no wonder why more donators are taking advantage of this feature. As you know, when you donate to AZ4Education, every dime is returned through an Arizona State tax credit.    That means you get to spend your tax dollars directly on education. So how does this work?   When you make your donation, simply give a name for a private […]

Meet Joseph

by admin November 15, 2012

You have met Brian and Steve in other blog postings. It is now time to meet Joe Bourcier, our newest board member. Growing up on the southwest side of Detroit as a young boy I wasn’t sure what the future held for me.  As I watched my Mother and Father gain success in their respective professions and my sister (who is 8 years older) earn straight A’s I knew that hard work was in my blood and a non-negotiable to succeed in life. I was the type of student athlete that had to study and practice every day to achieve […]

We Partnered With Promote Together

by admin October 9, 2012

We are very excited to announce a partnership with Promote Together to help raise funding for scholarships. Promote Together is a very simple, easy to use crowd funding concept for schools to raise donations that can be applied to scholarships. Crowd funding is the collective effort of individuals who network and pool their resources to support efforts initiated by other people or organizations. We will be the first STO to use this crowd funding model for all schools. We view this as an opportunity for the schools to have a more active role in fund raising for scholarships. We also […]

Scholarships and the new Switcher Credit

by Brian October 1, 2012

For those of you who are interested in supporting school choice and have given to AZ4Education or other STO’s, you might have already heard, but in case you haven’t, you can now give twice as much to AZ4Education and it still doesn’t cost you a dime!     That means twice as many tax credits to donators and 2x more dollars for families. For those who are interested in applying for a scholarship, the process hasn’t changed, it just has a few more qualifications and questions.   In short, we used to have one bucket to pull from for scholarships but now we […]

Fall 2012 Semester Scholarships Awarded

by admin July 17, 2012

What a difference a year makes! This year we received over 200% more scholarship applications than 2011. As a board member and volunteer for Az4Education it makes me proud to award as many scholarships to deserving students and families as possible. After reviewing ALL of the applications we have selected the scholarship recipients. Email notification to all scholarship recipients was sent out July 16! If you received the email, congratulations. If you did not receive an email notification, we truly wish that we could have done more. With the overwhelming number of applicants this year, we revisited our budget and […]

AZ4Education Gets A Major Facelift

by admin March 14, 2012

The team is very proud of the work that has been going on with our new site. We welcome you to the redesigned new and improved AZ4Education website. Getting started is our way to help guide the user around the site. If you are a potential donor – everything you wanted to know or were afraid to ask, should be there. Parents, we have a page to help you. What to find a private school – they are under schools. If all else fails, we have a FAQ section to help. That question is not there, submit your question and […]

Meet Brian

by Brian December 28, 2011

As Steve Bell said in the previous blog post, we are running a series of posts to tell you a bit  about ourselves, which is like trying to write a novel in Sanskrit for me. I went to college at Colorado State University in Fort Collins Colorado and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.    Every summer break, I would go back to IBM as an intern and save enough money to help pay for some items in school.    After college, I got a job for National Semiconductor in Utah and worked there for 3 years. Intel was […]
